Real families. Real nights. Real rest.
I have supported more than 600 families as they taught their babies and toddlers to sleep gently, with no cry it out, ever. These are their words and their stories, shared with permission and told the way they happened. Every plan bent around the baby. No baby ever had to bend around a plan.

Stories from our nights together
Shortened from real nights with real families. The full stories live in Selina’s Night Note on my homepage.
Shai, five months
Shai was waking four times a night and most nights ended in his parents’ bed. His first night was brutal. Then the plan started to fit.
“By day three and four he was sleeping independently in his crib, and on night seven he had his first fully weaned night.”
Clara, eight wakes to one feed
Clara stayed latched all night with unlimited feedings. Her mom chose to wean in clear steps, and I respected that call.
“Eight wakes to one feed is not a small thing. It is a whole family sleeping again.”
Luca, seven and a half months
Luca had been rocked for an hour at every waking, and all of his sleep was contact sleep. His mum climbed my settling ladder one small step at a time. This is from the log she sent me:
“I sat 2 feet away and only patted 3 times for 30 seconds each and he was asleep in 6 min!!”
Poppy, seven months
Poppy is growing along a lower percentile, so her plan kept her night feedings on purpose. Longer stretches and independent naps, with her feeds included.
“I will never trade your baby’s needs for a tidier result.”
Aisha, almost six months
Aisha’s first approach was not the right fit for her, so I changed her plan, and then I changed it again. That is not a failure. That is the work.
“A plan should bend around your baby. Your baby should never have to bend around a plan.”

★★★★★ “I have followed the Independent Sleepers instagram account since my now 11 month old was a newborn. I signed up for the Gentle Sleep Learning Course in hopes to get a better understanding of sleep training. I must say it has been my best purchase by far!! Selina made it so easy to understand and follow. I loved the video format, it made it feel like she was talking right to me. I would highly recommend this course to anyone. Thank you Independentsleepers!”
— Amber M, Gentle Sleep Learning Course review
★★★★ “While my little baby was growing, I got more confused about his schedule and how to adjust his wake windows and daily routine based on his age and needs. This guide provided tons of help and at least we had something to start with to have a consistent routine ❤️”
— Rahma M, Schedules by Age review
As heard on KDWB 101.3 in the Twin Cities, where I joined Falen, Colt and Jenny to talk about baby sleep.
Listen to the segment on iHeartRadio — my part starts at 16:05, when parents call in with their sleep questions.
